Related Product Information for OPRD1 cell line
Introduction: OPRD1 is a G-protein coupled receptor that functions as receptor for endogenous enkephalins and for a subset of other opioids. Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) and modulates the activity of down-stream effectors, such as adenylate cyclase. Signaling leads to the inhibition of adenylate cyclase activity. It inhibits neurotransmitter release by reducing calcium ion currents and increasing potassium ion conductance. It plays a role in the perception of pain and in opiate-mediated analgesia. It also plays a role in developing analgesic tolerance to morphine.
Description: Human OPRD1 ACTOne is a HEK293-CNG cell line that expresses recombinant human HTR1A. HEK293-CNG cells express a modified CNG (Cyclic Nucleotide Gated) channel that opens in response to elevated intracellular cAMP levels and consequently result in ion flux and cell membrane depolarization which can be easily measured with fluorescent Membrane Potential Dye (Cat# MBS430187). The assay allows both end-point and kinetic measurement of intracellular cAMP changes with a FLIPR, or a fluorescence microplate reader.

Product Notes

The OPRD1 oprd1 (Catalog #AAA430278) is a Cell Line and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. cAMP dependent assay for Gi-coupled human OPRD1 cell-based high-throughput screening of human OPRD1 agonists/antagonists. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the OPRD1 oprd1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Delta-type opioid receptor (OPRD1), Cell Line" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
