Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

(Testisin was detected in perfusion fixed frozen sections of mouse testis using Goat Mouse Testisin Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody at 1.7ug/ml overnight at 4°C. Tissue was stained using the Goat HRP-DAB Cell & Tissue Staining Kit and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Specific staining was localized to the plasma membranes of spermatocytes. Related Product Information for anti-Testisin antibody
Testisin is a serine protease encoded by the PRSS21 gene. Testisin is similar in structure to tryptases, and is also known as Tryptase-4. It is predicted to have substrate specificity similar to that of trypsin. Testisin is most highly expressed in testicular germ cells, but is also present in eosinophils. Testisin is known to be required for spermatogenesis, and deficiencies of the enzyme can result in infertility. Testisin is anchored to the cell surface through a C-terminal glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchor. Recombinant mouse Testisin is expressed with a truncated C-terminus, resulting in its secretion. The recombinant protein was purified as the zymogen and can undergo autoactivation under the appropriate conditions. Over aa28-298, mouse Testisin shares 92%aa identity with rat Testisin.

Product Notes

The Testisin (Catalog #AAA6011575) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Testisin (Prss21, Serine Protease 21, Tryptase 4) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Testisin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5mg/ml Immunohistochemistry: 5-15ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Testisin for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Testisin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
