Preparation and Storage
Some products may be shipped at room temperature. This will not affect their stability or performance. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles by aliquoting items into single-use fractions for storage at -20 degree C for up to 2 years. Keep all reagents on ice when not in storage.1ug/ul

Related Product Information for anti-Snail antibody
Short Description: AbFlex antibodies are recombinant antibodies (rAbs) that have been generated using defined DNA sequences to produce highly specific, reproducible antibodies. Each AbFlex antibody contains a 6xHis-tag, a Biotinylation Tag for enzymatic biotin conjugation using the biotin ligase, BirA, and a sortase recognition motif (LPXTG) to attach a variety of labels directly to the antibody including fluorophores, enzymatic substrates (HRP, AP), peptides, drugs as well as solid supports. Our AbFlex Snail antibody (rAb) was raised in a Mouse host. It has been validated for use in Western blot; it has been shown to react with Human samples.

Background: AbFlex antibodies are recombinant antibodies (rAbs) that have been generated using defined DNA sequences to produce highly specific, reproducible antibodies. AbFlex Snail antibody was expressed as full-length IgG with mouse immunoglobulin heavy and light chains (IgG2a isotype) in mammalian 293 cells. Snail (snail homolog 1 (Drosophila)) is involved in the epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) and formation and maintenance of embryonic mesoderm (By similarity). Binds to 3 E-boxes of the E-cadherin gene promoter and represses its transcription.

NCBI Description

The Drosophila embryonic protein snail is a zinc finger transcriptional repressor which downregulates the expression of ectodermal genes within the mesoderm. The nuclear protein encoded by this gene is structurally similar to the Drosophila snail protein, and is also thought to be critical for mesoderm formation in the developing embryo. At least two variants of a similar processed pseudogene have been found on chromosome 2. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Snail1: a protein of the C2H2-type zinc-finger family that regulates transcription. Involved in embryonic mesoderm formation. Plays a role in the epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT). EMT is characterized by decreased levels of the epithelial markers E-cadherin and alpha- and beta-catenin, and increased cellular migration and expression of the mesenchymal markers fibronectin, vimentin, N-cadherin and smooth muscle alpha-actin.E Snail binds to 3 E-boxes of the E-cadherin gene promoter and represses its transcription. NF-kappaB binds and regulates the snail promoter and is critical for EMT, and inhibition of NF-kappaB activity lowered snail levels and morphologically reversed the EMT.

Protein type: Transcription factor; C2H2-type zinc finger protein

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 20q13.2

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; metal ion binding; kinase binding

Biological Process: osteoblast differentiation; negative regulation of DNA damage response, signal transduction by p53 class mediator; cell migration; hair follicle morphogenesis; mesoderm formation; positive regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; epithelial to mesenchymal transition; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; palate development; positive regulation of cell migration

Product Notes

The Snail snai1 (Catalog #AAA389485) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AbFlex Snail antibody (rAb) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Snail can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Applications Validated: WB: 0.5-2ug/ml Note: many chromatin-bound proteins are not soluble in a low salt nuclear extract and fractionate to the pellet. Therefore, we recommend a High Salt/Sonication Protocol when preparing nuclear extracts for Western blot. AbFlex recombinant antibodies are genetically derived from DNA sequences of parental hybridoma clones. For details on the parental clone. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Snail snai1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Snail, Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
