Preparation and Storage

ZADH2 (Zinc Binding Alcohol Dehydrogenase Domain Containing 2) is located on human chromosome 18q22.3. The ZADH2 gene is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, A.thaliana, rice, and frog. 238 organisms have orthologs with human gene ZADH2. ZADH2 overexpression represses transcriptional activity of PPARG and inhibits adipocyte differentiation. ZADH2 is associated with some diseases, including Brachydactyly, Type D and Vertical Talus, Congenital. ZADH2 is related to oxidoreductase activity and transferase activity, transferring acyl groups other than amino-acyl groups. An important paralog of this gene is PTGR1.
