Related Product Information for PGLYRP1/PGRP-S active protein
PGLYRP1, also known as peptidoglycan recognition protein 1, is an innate immunity protein that plays several important functions in antimicrobial and antitumor defense systems. It acts as a pattern receptor that binds to murein peptidoglycans of gram-positive bacteria and provides bactericidal activity. PGLYRP1 forms an equimolar complex with HSPA1A and induces programmed cell death through apoptosis and necroptosis in tumor cell lines by activating the TNFR1 receptor on the target cell membrane. This protein also interacts with S100A4 and function as a chmoattractant which induces lymphocyte movement. Recombinant human PGLYRP1, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in HEK293 cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

Uniprot Description

PGLYRP1: Pattern receptor that binds to murein peptidoglycans (PGN) of Gram-positive bacteria. Has bactericidal activity towards Gram-positive bacteria. May kill Gram-positive bacteria by interfering with peptidoglycan biosynthesis. Binds also to Gram- negative bacteria, and has bacteriostatic activity towards Gram- negative bacteria. Plays a role in innate immunity. Belongs to the N-acetylmuramoyl-L-alanine amidase 2 family.

Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Apoptosis; Secreted; Receptor, misc.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.2-q13.3

Cellular Component: extracellular region

Molecular Function: peptidoglycan receptor activity; peptidoglycan binding; zinc ion binding; N-acetylmuramoyl-L-alanine amidase activity

The PGLYRP1/PGRP-S pglyrp1 (Catalog #AAA201349) is an Active Protein produced from HEK293 and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 22-196aa. AAA Biotech's PGLYRP1/PGRP-S can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE, Bioactivity. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PGLYRP1/PGRP-S pglyrp1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: QETED PA CCSPIVPRNE WKALASECAQ HLSLPLRYVV VSHTAGSSCN TPASCQQQAR NVQHYHMKTL GWCDVGYNFL IGEDGLVYEG RGWNFTGAHS GHLWNPMSIG ISFMGNYMDR VPTPQAIRAA QGLLACGVAQ GALRSNYVLK GHRDVQRTLS PGNQLYHLIQ NWPHYRSP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PGLYRP1/PGRP-S, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
