Related Product Information for RhoA recombinant protein
Description: Recombinant human RhoA (1-190) was expressed in E Coli cells using an N-terminal His tag.
Scientific Background: RhoA is a member of the Rho gene family that interacts with protein kinases and serves as a target of activated GTPase. RhoA plays an important role in the initial events of cell protrusion, whereas Rac1 and Cdc42 activate pathways implicated in reinforcement and stabilization of newly expanded protrusions. Rho mediates corneal epithelial migration in response to external stimuli by regulating the organization of the actin cytoskeleton (1). The inhibition of RhoA signaling is required for both vaccinia morphogenesis and virus-induced cell motility. Vaccinia inhibits RhoA signalling using the viral protein F11 and this can enhance the spread of infection (2).

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the Rho family of small GTPases, which cycle between inactive GDP-bound and active GTP-bound states and function as molecular switches in signal transduction cascades. Rho proteins promote reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton and regulate cell shape, attachment, and motility. Overexpression of this gene is associated with tumor cell proliferation and metastasis. Multiple alternatively spliced variants have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

Uniprot Description

RHOA: a small G protein of the Rho family. Regulates a signal transduction pathway linking plasma membrane receptors to the assembly of focal adhesions and actin stress fibers. Controls the reorganization of actins into podosomes. Serves as a target for the yopT cysteine peptidase from Yersinia pestis, vector of the plague, and Yersinia pseudotuberculosis, which causes gastrointestinal disorders.

Product Notes

The RhoA rhoa (Catalog #AAA515654) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 1-190. AAA Biotech's RhoA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Enzyme Assay, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RhoA rhoa for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RhoA, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
