NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
member of the 14-3-3 protein family; may mediate signal transduction by binding to phosphoserine-containing proteins; may play a role in cell cycle regulation [RGD, Feb 2006]
Uniprot Description
Function: Adapter protein implicated in the regulation of a large spectrum of both general and specialized signaling pathways. Binds to a large number of partners, usually by recognition of a phosphoserine or phosphothreonine motif. Binding generally results in the modulation of the activity of the binding partner. Negative regulator of osteogenesis. Blocks the nuclear translocation of the phosphorylated form (by AKT1) of SRPK2 and antagonizes its stimulatory effect on cyclin D1 expression resulting in blockage of neuronal apoptosis elicited by SRPK2
By similarity.
Subunit structure: Homodimer. Interacts with SSH1 and TORC2/CRTC2. Interacts with ABL1 (phosphorylated form); the interaction results in cytoplasmic location of ABL1 and inhibition of cABL-mediated apoptosis. Interacts with ROR2 (dimer); the interaction results in phosphorylation of YWHAB on tyrosine residues. Interacts with GAB2, YAP1 and PRKCE (phosphorylated form). Interacts with SAMSN1
By similarity. Interacts with PKA-phosphorylated AANAT. Interacts with the phosphorylated (by AKT1) form of SRPK2
By similarity. Ref.5
Subcellular location: Cytoplasm. Melanosome
By similarity.
Post-translational modification: The alpha, brain-specific form differs from the beta form in being phosphorylated
By similarity. Phosphorylated on Ser-60 by protein kinase C delta type catalytic subunit in a sphingosine-dependent fashion
By similarity.Isoform Short contains a N-acetylmethionine at position 1
By similarity.
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the 14-3-3 family.

Product Notes
The YWHAB ywhab (Catalog #AAA502001) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Phospho-Ser58 14-3-3 Protein reacts with Human, rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's 14-3-3 (Ser58) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Quality Control: Western blots performed on each lot. WB: 1:1000 IHC: 1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the YWHAB ywhab for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "14-3-3 (Ser58), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
