Materials Provided
1. Capture Antibody 0.3 mg/mL of mouse anti-Human IL13/IL-13/ALRH monoclonal antibody (in PBS, pH 7.4). Dilute to a working concentration of 2ug/mL in PBS before coating.
2. Detection Antibody 0.2 mg/mL of mouse anti-Human IL13/IL-13/ALRH monoclonal antibody conjugated to horseradish-peroxidase (HRP) (in PBS, 50 % HRP-Protector, pH 7.4, store at 4 degree C). Dilute to working concentration of 0.5ug/mL in detection antibody dilution buffer before use.
3. Standard Each vial contains 27 ng of recombinant Human IL13/IL-13/ALRH. Reconstitute with 1 mL detection antibody dilution buffer. After reconstitution, store at -20 degree C to -80 degree C in a manual defrost freezer. A seven-point standard curve using 2-fold serial dilutions in sample dilution buffer, and a high standard of 300 pg/mL is recommended.

Preparation and Storage
Capture Antibody: Aliquot and store at -20 degree C to -80 degree C for up to 6 months from date of receipt. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Detection Antibody: Store at 4 degree C and protect it from prolonged exposure to light for up to 6 months from date of receipt. DO NOT FREEZE!
Standard: Store lyophilized standard at -20 degree C to -80 degree C for up to 6 months from date of receipt. Aliquot and store the reconstituted Standard at -80 degree C for up to 1 month. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Interleukin 13 (IL-13) is a single-chain glycosylated polypeptide, which belongs to the IL-13/IL-4 family. IL-13 protein is secreted by many cell types, but especially by T helper type 2 (Th2) cells. IL-13 exerts its effects through a multi-subunit receptor comprising the alpha chain of the IL-4 receptor (IL-4Ralpha) and at least one of two known IL-13-specific binding chains (IL-13 Ralpha1 and IL-13 Ralpha2). As a cytokine, IL-13 protein is critical in regulating inflammatory, immune responses, and diseases. Also, it inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, and thus down-regulates macrophage activity. IL-13 protein and antibody are more importantly implicated as a central mediator of immunoregulatory processes in various cell types.
