Testing Data
(Recombinant YTHDC2 binding assay 3 uM biotinylated ssDNA m6A oligos (GTTGG/m6A/CTT) were incubated with different concentrations of YTHDC2 protein in a 10 ul system containing 50 mM HEPES-NaOH pH 7.4, and 0.1% BSA for 1 hour, then 10 ul DYKDDDDK antibody and SA-XL665 mixture (each 1:100 dilution reaction buffer) was added to each reaction system and incubated for 30 min. All the operations and reactions were performed at room temperature. HTRF assay was used for detection.)

Background: YTHDC2 (YTH Domain Containing 2), is a member of the DEAH (Asp-Glu-Ala-His) subfamily of proteins, part of the DEAD (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) box family of RNA helicases. It specifically recognizes and binds to N6-methyladenosine (m6A), a common modified RNA nucleotide that is enriched in the stop codons and 3' UTRs of eukaryotic mRNAs and some non-coding RNAs and plays a role in the efficiency of mRNA splicing, processing and stability. YTHDC2 may be associated with susceptibility to pancreatic cancer in human patients, and knockdown of this gene resulted in reduced proliferation in a human liver cancer cell line.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the DEAH (Asp-Glu-Ala-His) subfamily of proteins, part of the DEAD (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) box family of RNA helicases. The encoded protein binds to N6-methyladenosine, a common modified RNA nucleotide that is enriched in the stop codons and 3' UTRs of eukaryotic messenger RNAs. Binding of proteins to this modified nucleotide may regulate mRNA translation and stability. This gene may be associated with susceptibility to pancreatic cancer in human patients, and knockdown of this gene resulted in reduced proliferation in a human liver cancer cell line. Product Notes
The YTHDC2 ythdc2 (Catalog #AAA389251) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Baculovirus and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "YTHDC2, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
