Related Product Information for ULBP-3 recombinant protein
ULBP-3, also known as NKG2D ligand 3, is ligands for natural-killer group 2, member D (NKG2D) receptor. It is related to MHC class I molecules, but its gene maps outside the MHC locus. The domain structure of ULBP3 differs significantly from those of conventional MHC class I molecules. It does not contain the alpha3 domain and the transmembrane segment. ULBP3 is thus composed of only the alpha1alpha2 domain which is linked to the cell membrane by the GPI anchor. It functions as a stress-induced ligand for NKG2D receptor. In the normal hair follicle, ULBP3 is turned off. However, different studies reported its high level in alopecia areata (AA). It is also expressed on some tumor cells and have been implicated in tumor surveillance. Recombinant human ULBP-3, fused to hIgG-His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

Uniprot Description

ULBP3: Ligand for the NKG2D receptor, together with at least ULBP1 and ULBP2. ULBPs activate multiple signaling pathways in primary NK cells, resulting in the production of cytokines and chemokines. Binding of ULBPs ligands to NKG2D induces calcium mobilization and activation of the JAK2, STAT5, ERK and PI3K kinase/Akt signal transduction pathway. Has lower affinity for NKG2D compared to ULBP1 and ULBP2 and induces weaker signaling responses than does ULBP2 or ULBP1. Belongs to the MHC class I family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, GPI anchor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6q25

Cellular Component: anchored to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: antigen binding; natural killer cell lectin-like receptor binding

Biological Process: antigen processing and presentation; natural killer cell activation; natural killer cell mediated cytotoxicity; regulation of immune response

Product Notes

The ULBP-3 ulbp3 (Catalog #AAA201322) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Baculovirus and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 30-217aa. AAA Biotech's ULBP-3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ULBP-3 ulbp3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: DAHSL WY NFTIIHLPRH GQQWCEVQSQ VDQKNFLSYD CGSDKVLSMG HLEEQLYATD AWGKQLEMLR EVGQRLRLEL ADTELEDFTP SGPLTLQVRM SCECEADGYI RGSWQFSFDG RKFLLFDSNN RKWTVVHAGA RRMKEKWEKD SGLTTFFKMV SMRDCKSWLR DFLMHRKKRL EPTAPPTMAP G. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ULBP-3, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
