Related Product Information for anti-Eif4h antibody
A variety of factors contribute to the initiation of translation. Eukaryotic initiation factor 4H (eIF4H) was purified to near homogeneity from rabbit reticulocyte lysate and shown to stimulate translation in an assay deficient in eIF4F and eIF4B (1). eIF4H induces the RNA-dependent ATP hydrolysis catalyzed by the initiation factors eIF4A and eIF4B (1,2). eIF4H was further shown to stimulate the initial rate and extent of eIF4A-mediated mRNA secondary structure unwinding (3).

Uniprot Description

EIF4H: eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4H stimulates protein translation. May stimulate the activities of EIF4A, EIF4B and EIF4F during the steps involving mRNA binding and utilization in the initiation of protein biosynthesis. Binds mRNA. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described. The short isoform is the predominant isoform and is expressed alone in liver and skeletal muscle. Both isoforms are expressed in fibroblast, spleen, testis and bone marrow. Levels are high in lung and pancreas and low in heart, frontal cortex and kidney.

Protein type: RNA-binding; Translation initiation; Translation

Cellular Component: membrane; perinuclear region of cytoplasm

Molecular Function: translation initiation factor activity; nucleotide binding

Biological Process: developmental growth; sexual reproduction; translational initiation

Product Notes

The Eif4h eif4h (Catalog #AAA618246) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 4H (eIF4H) reacts with Human, Monkey, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 4H can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF). Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence and Western Blot. Dilution: Western blotting: 1:1000 Immunofluorescence: 1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Eif4h eif4h for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 4H, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
