Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Dilution: Westerm Blot: 1:1000-1:5000. Doublet band seen ~220-240kD.
Immnohistochemistry: Paraffin and Frozen
Western Blot (WB)
(Western Blot using MBS603422 (5ug)|Lane 1: Rat's total brain tissue|Lane 2: human CNS progenitor cells (1:1000))
Immunofluorescence (IF)
(Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence using MBS603422 (1:50) staining analysis of formalin fixed, 0.1% Triton X-100 permeabilized F9 cells (Mouse teratocarcinoma). The primary antibody was detected using Alexa Fluor 488 labeled IgG (H+L) donkey anti-mouse cross-adsorbed secondary antibody (green) and nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (blue). An isotype control set was inclubated with mouse IgG1 isotype control antibody and the secondary antibody.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin using MBS603422 (1:500). Nestin was detected in immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of human kidney. Tissue was stained using the VisuCyte anti-mouse HRP polymer detection reagent with DAB chromogen (brown) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue).)
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS)
(Flow Cytometry using MBS603422 (1 ug/1x10e6 cells) Intracellular flow cytometric staining of 1 x 10e6 CHO (A) and HEK-293 (B) cells using Nestin antibody (dark blue). Isotype control shown in orange.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Nestin is an intermediate filament protein that was first identified with a monoclonal antibody by Hockfield and McKay (1985) [PubMed 4078630]. It is expressed predominantly in stem cells of the central nervous system in the neural tube. Upon terminal neural differentiation, nestin is downregulated and replaced by neurofilaments.[supplied by OMIM]
Uniprot Description
nestin: an intermediate filament protein. It is expressed predominantly in stem cells of the central nervous system in the neural tube. Upon terminal neural differentiation, nestin is downregulated and replaced by neurofilaments.
Protein type: Cytoskeletal
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q23.1
Cellular Component: intermediate filament cytoskeleton; cytoplasm; intermediate filament

Product Notes
The NES nes (Catalog #AAA603422) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Nestin (ESTM46, FLJ21841, Intermediate Filament Protein, Nbla00170, Nes) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Nestin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF). Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Dilution: Westerm Blot: 1:1000-1:5000. Doublet band seen ~220-240kD. Immnohistochemistry: Paraffin and Frozen. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NES nes for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Nestin, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
