Principle of the Assay||This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. anti-Human NES antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-Human NES antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Human NES amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of Human NES can be calculated.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the intermediate filament protein family and is expressed primarily in nerve cells. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]

Uniprot Description

nestin: an intermediate filament protein. It is expressed predominantly in stem cells of the central nervous system in the neural tube. Upon terminal neural differentiation, nestin is downregulated and replaced by neurofilaments.

Protein type: Cytoskeletal

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q23.1

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; intermediate filament; intermediate filament cytoskeleton

Molecular Function: intermediate filament binding; structural molecule activity

Biological Process: brain development; cell projection morphogenesis; central nervous system development; embryonic camera-type eye development; G2/M transition of mitotic cell cycle; negative regulation of catalytic activity; negative regulation of neuron apoptosis; negative regulation of protein binding; positive regulation of intermediate filament depolymerization

Product Notes

The Human NES nes (Catalog #AAA760286) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA760286 ELISA Kit recognizes Human NES. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Nestin, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
