Related Product Information for anti-NES antibody
The monoclonal antibody 10C2 recognizes human nestin. Nestin is a 220-240 kDa Class VI intermediate filament protein that is expressed in stem cells of the developing nervous system, specifically the neuroepithelium and angiogenic cells, and progenitors of pancreatic islet and mesenchymal cells. Additionally, expression has been identified in a variety of tumors such as glioblastomas and pancreatic tumors. Nestin containing filaments upon differentitation are replaced by cell type specific intermediate filament proteins, such as GFAP. No co-reactivity to rodent nestins has been observed using 10C2 antibody.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the intermediate filament protein family and is expressed primarily in nerve cells. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]

Uniprot Description

Required for brain and eye development. Promotes the disassembly of phosphorylated vimentin intermediate filaments (IF) during mitosis and may play a role in the trafficking and distribution of IF proteins and other cellular factors to daughter cells during progenitor cell division. Required for survival, renewal and mitogen-stimulated proliferation of neural progenitor cells ().

Product Notes

The NES nes (Catalog #AAA5309283) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Nestin antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Nestin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Functional Assay. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NES nes for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Nestin, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
