Preparation and Storage
This antibody can be stored at 2-8 degree C for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

SAMM50 is responsible for protein sorting and assembly, and Drp1 is a GTPase protein responsible for mitochondrial division. Scientists demonstrated that SAMM50 overexpression results in Drp1-dependent mitochondrial fragmentation in HeLa cells. However, the mitochondrial fragmentation induced by SAMM50 overexpression could be reversed through co-expression with MFN2. Furthermore, SAMM50 interacts with Drp1 both in vivo and in vitro. SAMM50 affects the Drp1-dependent mitochondrial morphology. The genomic regions containing PNPLA3, SAMM50, and PARVB are susceptibility loci for the development and progression of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). LPPR4 and SAMM50 allelic variants are independent risk factors for fatty liver disease (FLD) and steatohepatitis development, respectively, in HIV-infected individuals.
