Clonality
Polyclonal
Isotype
IgG
Specificity
This is an affinity purified antibody produced by immunoaffinity chromatography using the immunizing peptide after immobilization to a solid phase. Reactivity occurs against human RAD52 protein. Cross reactivity with RAD52 protein from non-human sources is not expected based on a lack of homology (BLAST) with other known proteins.

Applicable Applications for anti-RAD52 antibody
Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Application Notes
This affinity purified antibody has been tested for use in western blotting using HeLa nuclear extracts. The antibody is also functional by ELISA. Dilutions for western blotting represent a starting point dilution and further optimization may be required. The antibody detects a band of approximately 63.0 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 46.3 kDa). Specific band detection by western blot is blocked by peptide competition by pre-incubating the antibody with the immunizing peptide prior to reaction with the membrane. Reactivity in other immunoassays is unknown.
Immunogen
This affinity purified antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with a synthetic peptide corresponding to aa 360-375 of the Human Rad 52 protein.
Preparation and Storage
This product is stable for several weeks at 4 degree C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at-20 degree C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Expiration date is one (1) year from date of receipt.

Related Product Information for anti-RAD52 antibody
The protein encoded by this gene shares similarity with Saccharomyces cerevisiae Rad52, a protein important for DNA double-strand break repair and homologous recombination. This gene product was shown to bind single-stranded DNA ends, and mediate the DNA-DNA interaction necessary for the annealing of complementary DNA strands. It was also found to interact with DNA recombination protein RAD51, which suggested its role in RAD51 related DNA recombination and repair. Four alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been reported for this gene. The alpha variant encodes the longest isoform that contains an identical N-terminus, but a distinct C-terminus, as compared to other isoforms (beta, delta, and gamma).

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene shares similarity with Saccharomyces cerevisiae Rad52, a protein important for DNA double-strand break repair and homologous recombination. This gene product was shown to bind single-stranded DNA ends, and mediate the DNA-DNA interaction necessary for the annealing of complementary DNA strands. It was also found to interact with DNA recombination protein RAD51, which suggested its role in RAD51 related DNA recombination and repair. A pseudogene of this gene is present on chromosome 2. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Additional alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described, but their full-length nature is not known. Product Notes

The RAD52 (Catalog #AAA4157753) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Human RAD52 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's RAD52 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RAD52 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RAD52, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
