Rabbit KCNC1 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-KCNC1 antibody
KCNC1 Antibody
Phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
IF/ICC: 1:100-1:500
Immunofluorescence (IF)
(MBS9605768 staining Hela by IF/ICC. The sample were fixed with PFA and permeabilized in 0.1% Triton X-100, then blocked in 10% serum for 45 minutes at 25 degree C. The primary antibody was diluted at 1/200 and incubated with the sample for 1 hour at 37 degree C. An Alexa Fluor 594 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG (H+L) Ab, diluted at 1/600, was used as the secondary antibody.)
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of extracts from JK cells, using KCNC1 antibody. The lane on the left is treated with the antigen-specific peptide.)
Subunit Structure: Heteromultimer with KCNG3, KCNG4 and KCNV2 (By similarity). Heteromultimer with KCNC2 (By similarity). Heterotetramer with KCNC3 (PubMed:23734863). Interacts with the ancillary subunits KCNE1 and KCNE2; the interaction modulates channel activity (By similarity).
Post-translational Modifications: N-glycosylated; contains sialylated glycans.
Similarity: The segment S4 is probably the voltage-sensor and is characterized by a series of positively charged amino acids at every third position. The tail may be important in modulation of channel activity and/or targeting of the channel to specific subcellular compartments. Belongs to the potassium channel family. C (Shaw) (TC 1.A.1.2) subfamily. Kv3.1/KCNC1 sub-subfamily.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Predicted: 58 kDa
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of a family of integral membrane proteins that mediate the voltage-dependent potassium ion permeability of excitable membranes. Alternative splicing is thought to result in two transcript variants encoding isoforms that differ at their C-termini. These isoforms have had conflicting names in the literature: the longer isoform has been called both "b" and "alpha", while the shorter isoform has been called both "a" and "beta" (PMIDs 1432046, 12091563). [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2014]
Uniprot Description
Voltage-gated potassium channel that plays an important role in the rapid repolarization of fast-firing brain neurons. The channel opens in response to the voltage difference across the membrane, forming a potassium-selective channel through which potassium ions pass in accordance with their electrochemical gradient (PubMed:25401298). Can form functional homotetrameric channels and heterotetrameric channels that contain variable proportions of KCNC2, and possibly other family members as well. Contributes to fire sustained trains of very brief action potentials at high frequency in pallidal neurons.

Product Notes
The KCNC1 kcnc1 (Catalog #AAA9605768) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The KCNC1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's KCNC1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:1000 IF/ICC: 1:100-1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KCNC1 kcnc1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "KCNC1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
