Related Product Information for anti-KCNC1 antibody
The Shaker gene family of Drosophila encodes components of
voltage-gated potassium channels and is comprised of four
subfamilies. Based on sequence similarity, this gene is similar to
one of these subfamilies, namely the Shaw subfamily. The protein
encoded by this gene belongs to the delayed rectifier class of
channel proteins and is an integral membrane protein that mediates
the voltage-dependent potassium ion permeability of excitable
membranes. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms
have been inferred for this gene based on orthologous loci.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of a family of integral membrane proteins that mediate the voltage-dependent potassium ion permeability of excitable membranes. Alternative splicing is thought to result in two transcript variants encoding isoforms that differ at their C-termini. These isoforms have had conflicting names in the literature: the longer isoform has been called both "b" and "alpha", while the shorter isoform has been called both "a" and "beta" (PMIDs 1432046, 12091563). [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2014]

Uniprot Description

Kv3.1 iso2: Mediates the voltage-dependent potassium ion permeability of excitable membranes. Assuming opened or closed conformations in response to the voltage difference across the membrane, the protein forms a potassium-selective channel through which potassium ions may pass in accordance with their electrochemical gradient. Belongs to the potassium channel family. C (Shaw) (TC 1.A.1.2) subfamily. Kv3.1/KCNC1 sub-subfamily.

Protein type: Channel, potassium; Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11p15

Cellular Component: voltage-gated potassium channel complex; plasma membrane; integral to membrane; axolemma

Molecular Function: voltage-gated potassium channel activity; kinesin binding; delayed rectifier potassium channel activity

Biological Process: synaptic transmission; potassium ion transport; protein homooligomerization

Disease: Epilepsy, Progressive Myoclonic 7

Product Notes

The KCNC1 kcnc1 (Catalog #AAA9213313) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 479-508. The KCNC1 Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human (Predicted Reactivity: Mouse) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's KCNC1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KCNC1 kcnc1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "KCNC1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
