Recombinant Antigen
internal 14-kDa flagellin fragment of Borrelia afzelii (Craft et al., 1984).
Organism
Borrelia
Tag
HIS
Molecular Weight Information
Determined by SDS-PAGE, the protein band is between molecular markers of 25,000 and18,400 Da, while relative molecular mass calculated from amino acid sequence is 16,483.9 Da
Observation Notes
in some cases, purified proteins runat a molecular weight which is slightly different to thetheoretically calculated molecular weight maybe due to thehis-tag presence, which can produce a delay in SDS-PAGE.Proteins should be maintained frozen at highconcentrations. The dilution to be performed for ELISAassays should be made with a small quantity of protein, thesame day of the experiment. In order to defrost the protein, maintain the aliquot at 25 degree C without shaking to avoidaggregation. Prior making test dilutions and after defrostthe protein, is recommended to remove possible proteinaggregates by centrifuging the stock solution, avoidingalterations in the immobilization of the biomolecule to thesolid surface.
Buffer
20 mM phosphate buffer pH 8, 10 mM NaCl, 0.1% polyoxyethylene (10) tridecyl ether, 8 M urea and 250 mM imidazol
Batch Composition
Recombinant antigen with a his-tag in its N-terminus
Storage Buffer
20 mM phosphate buffer pH 8, 10 mM NaCl, 0.1% polyoxyethylene (10) tridecyl ether, 8 M urea and 250 mM imidazol
Reconstitution
For lyophilized proteins: with 0.04 ml of sterile double-distilled water (lot specific) for a final concentration of 1.59 mg/ml (lot specific). The protein will be at pH 8.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized protein is shipped with on ice packs. Upon arrival, it should be stored at 20 degree C to -80 degree C. Aliquot after reconstitution in order to avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles and store at 20 degree C to -80 degree C.

Product Notes

The p14 (Catalog #AAA505001) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's p14 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Lateral Flow (LF). Recommended concentration in ELISA plates: 0.9 ug/ml in plates for IgG detection Suggested Titer by ELISA: approx. 1/1750, which corresponds to 0.9 g/ml in plates for IgG detection. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the p14 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "p14, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
