Related Product Information for anti-CD79a antibody
Mouse anti Human CD79a antibody, clone ZL7-4 recognizes  the human B-cell antigen receptor complex-associated protein alpha chain, also known as MB-1 membrane glycoprotein or CD79a. clone ZL7-4 reacts with CD79a positive cells by flow cytometry and with CD79a in an ELISA specific for a fusion protein of CD79a-Fc. Mouse anti Human CD79a antibody, clone ZL7-4 has been reported to be useful in distinguishing B-CLL from mantle cell lymphoma in flow cytometric assays (Bell et al. 1999). Mouse anti Human CD79a antibody, clone ZL7-4 has been reported to be suitable for Immunohistochemistry on frozen and pre-treated paraffin sections, but does exhibit epithelial staining. Mouse anti Human CD79a antibody, clone ZL7-4 has been reported to induce phosphorylation of syk kinase  (Lanham et al. 2003).

NCBI Description

The B lymphocyte antigen receptor is a multimeric complex that includes the antigen-specific component, surface immunoglobulin (Ig). Surface Ig non-covalently associates with two other proteins, Ig-alpha and Ig-beta, which are necessary for expression and function of the B-cell antigen receptor. This gene encodes the Ig-alpha protein of the B-cell antigen component. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Ig-alpha: an integral membrane protein that associates with surface immunoglobulin B lymphocyte antigen receptor multimeric complex. Surface Ig non-covalently associates with 2 other proteins, Ig-alpha and Ig-beta, which are necessary for expression and function of the B-cell antigen receptor. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Immunoglobulin superfamily

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.2

Cellular Component: multivesicular body; integral to membrane; plasma membrane; B cell receptor complex; external side of plasma membrane; lipid raft

Molecular Function: transmembrane receptor activity

Biological Process: B cell proliferation; B cell receptor signaling pathway; B cell activation; B cell differentiation

Product Notes

The CD79a cd79a (Catalog #AAA210648) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's CD79a can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow cytometry (FC/FACS). Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 106 cells or 100ul whole blood. We recommend incubation times of at least 30 minutes with this antibody. Flow Cytometry: Maximum Dilution: Neat. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD79a cd79a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD79a, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
