Intended Uses: This immunoassay kit allows for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat MMP-14 concentrations in serum, Plasma, tissue homogenates and Cell culture supernates and Other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to MMP-14. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated polyclonal antibody preparation specific for MMP-14 and Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then a TMB substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain MMP-14, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The concentration of MMP-14 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

enzyme which is an activator of progelatinase A [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

MMP14: Seems to specifically activate progelatinase A. May thus trigger invasion by tumor cells by activating progelatinase A on the tumor cell surface. May be involved in actin cytoskeleton reorganization by cleaving PTK7. Up-regulated by NANOS1. Expressed in stromal cells of colon, breast, and head and neck. Expressed in lung tumors. Belongs to the peptidase M10A family.

Product Notes

The Rat Mmp14 mmp14 (Catalog #AAA2881455) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2881455 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat Mmp14. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Matrix metalloproteinase-14, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
