Uniprot Description

TCF20: a transcriptional activator. Binds to the regulatory region of MMP3 and thereby controls stromelysin expression. It stimulates the activity of various transcriptional activators such as JUN, SP1, PAX6 and ETS1, suggesting a function as a coactivator. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described. Isoform 1 is exclusively expressed in brain, heart and testis, and predominates in liver and kidney. Isoform 2 predominates in lung.

Protein type: DNA-binding; Nuclear receptor co-regulator; Transcription factor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 15|15 E1

Cellular Component: nuclear body; nucleoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: DNA binding; DNA binding transcription factor activity; metal ion binding; protein binding; RNA binding; transcription regulatory region DNA binding

Biological Process: positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; regulation of transcription, DNA-templated; transcription, DNA-dependent

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Transcription factor 20 (TCF20), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
