Related Product Information for anti-CD81C antibody
CD81, also known as TAPA-1, is an integral membrane protein expressed on a variety of cell types and has a high degree of sequence homology between human and mouse. CD81 is expressed on thymic stromal cells where it plays an important role in the transition of gammadelta+ T cells to more mature T cells with alphabeta T cell receptors. Immunohistochemical staining has revealed that its expression is localized to the subcapsular region of the thymus and, specifically, on cells that have distinct clustering patterns. It has been speculated that the ligand for CD81 is the pre-T cell receptor which is composed of a TCR beta chain and glycoprotein pTalpha. The monoclonal antibody 2F7 can block thymocyte interaction with CD81 in vitro.

Product Notes

The CD81C (Catalog #AAA679284) is an Antibody produced from Hamster and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Hamster Anti-Mouse CD81-APC reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD81C can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Blocking (BL), Costimulation. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD81C for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD81C, Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
