Related Product Information for TIMP-2 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Guinea pig TNF-alpha concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Guinea pig TNF-alpha. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Guinea pig TNF-alpha and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Guinea pig TNF-alpha, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Guinea pig TNF-alpha. You can calculate the concentration of Guinea pig TNF-alpha in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

acts as an inhibitor of metallopeptidase activity; may play a role in tissue remodeling during spermatogenesis [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

TIMP2: Complexes with metalloproteinases (such as collagenases) and irreversibly inactivates them by binding to their catalytic zinc cofactor. Known to act on MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, MMP-7, MMP-8, MMP-9, MMP-10, MMP-13, MMP-14, MMP-15, MMP-16 and MMP-19. Interacts (via the C-terminal) with MMP2 (via the C- terminal PEX domain); the interaction inhibits the MMP2 activity. Down-regulated by TGFB1. Belongs to the protease inhibitor I35 (TIMP) family.

Product Notes

The Guinea Pig TIMP-2 timp2 (Catalog #AAA2504036) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2504036 ELISA Kit recognizes Guinea Pig TIMP-2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TIMP-2, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
