Related Product Information for CytoSelect 96-well Leukocyte-endothelium assay kit
Background: Leukocyte extravasation into perivascular tissue plays a key role in inflammatory diseases. This recruitment requires leukocyte interaction with vascular endothelium and consists of multiple, consecutive processes including the capture of circulating leukocytes, subsequent leukocyte rolling, arrest, firm adhesion and transmigration (Figure 1). This multistep paradigm is realized by sequential activation-dependent interactions between endothelial cell adhesion molecules and their specific ligands on leukocytes. The first step of transient adhesion and rolling is known to be mediated by an interaction of leukocyte or endothelial cell selectins and their oligosaccharide-bearing ligands. Arrest and firm adhesion of leukocytes to endothelium is dependent on the activation of beta2 integrins like Mac-1 or LFA-1 on the leukocyte cell surface, followed by interaction with endothelial cell proteins belonging to the Ig superfamily such as ICAM-1. CytoSelect Leukocyte-endothelium Adhesion Assay provides a robust system for the quantitative determination of leukocyte-endothelium interactions. The kit contains sufficient reagents for the evaluation of 100 assays in a 96-well plate.

Product Notes

The CytoSelect 96-well Leukocyte-endothelium (Catalog #AAA168873) is an Assay Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CytoSelect 96-well Leukocyte-endothelium, Assay Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
