NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
VAMP2: a member of the vesicle-associated membrane protein (VAMP)/synaptobrevin family. Synaptobrevins/VAMPs, syntaxins, and the 25-kD synaptosomal-associated protein SNAP25 are the main components of a protein complex involved in the docking and/or fusion of synaptic vesicles with the presynaptic membrane. Thought to participate in neurotransmitter release at a step between docking and fusion. The protein forms a stable complex with syntaxin, synaptosomal-associated protein, 25 kD, and synaptotagmin. It also forms a distinct complex with synaptophysin.

Product Notes
The VAMP2 vamp2 (Catalog #AAA635835) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. Suitable for use in Western Blot. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the VAMP2 vamp2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MRGSHHHHHH GMASMTGGQQ MGRDLYDDDD KDRWGSHMSA TAATAPPAAP AGEGGPPAPP PNLTSNRRLQ QTQAQVDEVV DIMRVNVDKV LERDQKLSEL DDRADALQAG ASQFETSAAK. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "VAMP 2, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
