Related Product Information for VAPA recombinant protein
VAPA is a type IV membrane protein, present in the plasma membrane, intracellular vesicles and may also be associated with the cytoskeleton. This protein is a SNARE regulator with high levels of expression in the intestine during late embryogenesis and early neonatal development. VAPA may function in vesicle trafficking, membrane fusion, protein complex assembly and cell motility.

Recombinant VAPA protein was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a type IV membrane protein. It is present in the plasma membrane and intracellular vesicles. It may also be associated with the cytoskeleton. This protein may function in vesicle trafficking, membrane fusion, protein complex assembly and cell motility. Alternative splicing occurs at this locus and two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

VAPA: May play a role in vesicle trafficking. Belongs to the VAMP-associated protein (VAP) (TC 9.B.17) family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The VAPA vapa (Catalog #AAA637377) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's VAPA Human can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blot. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the VAPA vapa for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MRGSHHHHHH GMASMTGGQQ MGRDLYDDDD KDRWGSHMAS ASGAMAKHEQ ILVLDPPTDL KFKGPFTDVV TTNLKLRNPS DRKVCFKVKT TAPRRYCVRP NSGIIDPGST VTVSVMLQPF DYDPNEKSKH KFMVQTIFAP PNTSDMEAVW KEAKPDELMD SKLRCVFEMP NENDKLNDME PSKAVPLNAS KQDGPMPKPH SVSLNDTETR KLMEECKRLQ GEMMKLSEEN RHLRDEGLRL RKVAHSDKPG STSTASFRDN VTSP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "VAPA Human, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
