TRAPPC6B (Trafficking Protein Particle Complex 6B) is a Protein Coding gene. The TRAPPC6B gene, located on 14q21.1, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, and rat, etc. TRAPPC6B is a component of transport protein particle (TRAPP) complexes that may function in specific stages of inter-organelle traffic. TRAPPC6B is also specifically involved in the early development of neural circuitry, likely by controlling the frequency and amplitude of intracellular calcium transients implicated in the regulation of neuron differentiation and survival. TRAPPC6B is widely expressed in the brain, thyroid, and other tissues. Pathogenic variants in the TRAPPC6B gene are associated in three consanguineous families, with microcephaly, epilepsy, and brain malformations.
