Related Product Information for anti-Timp2 antibody
TIMP2 gene is encoded by 5 exons spanning 83kb of genomic DNA. TIMP2 is 83kb long with exon-intron splicing sites located in preserved positions among the three members of the TIMP family. The gene for tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-2 is localized on human chromosome arm 17q25. TIMP-2 abrogates angiogenic factor-induced endothelial cell proliferation in vitro and angiogenesis in vivo independent of MMP inhibition.

NCBI Description

acts as an inhibitor of metallopeptidase activity; may play a role in tissue remodeling during spermatogenesis [RGD]

Uniprot Description

TIMP2: Complexes with metalloproteinases (such as collagenases) and irreversibly inactivates them by binding to their catalytic zinc cofactor. Known to act on MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, MMP-7, MMP-8, MMP-9, MMP-10, MMP-13, MMP-14, MMP-15, MMP-16 and MMP-19. Interacts (via the C-terminal) with MMP2 (via the C- terminal PEX domain); the interaction inhibits the MMP2 activity. Down-regulated by TGFB1. Belongs to the protease inhibitor I35 (TIMP) family.

Product Notes

The Timp2 timp2 (Catalog #AAA628056) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TIMP2 (Metalloproteinase Inhibitor 2, CSC-21K, Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinases 2, TIMP-2) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TIMP2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blot. Dilution: Western Blot:1-2ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Timp2 timp2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TIMP2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
