This is a rabbit polyclonal antibody against TIA1. It was validated on Western Blot using a cell lysate as a positive control.

Target Description: TIA1 is a member of a RNA-binding protein family and possesses nucleolytic activity against cytotoxic lymphocyte (CTL) target cells. It has been suggested that this protein may be involved in the induction of apoptosis as it preferentially recognizes poly(A) homopolymers and induces DNA fragmentation in CTL targets. The major granule-associated species is a 15-kDa protein that is thought to be derived from the carboxyl terminus of the 40-kDa product by proteolytic processing. NCBI Description

The product encoded by this gene is a member of a RNA-binding protein family and possesses nucleolytic activity against cytotoxic lymphocyte (CTL) target cells. Uniprot Description

TIA1: Involved in alternative pre-RNA splicing and regulation of mRNA translation by binding to AU-rich elements (AREs) located in mRNA 3' untranslated regions (3' UTRs). Possesses nucleolytic activity against cytotoxic lymphocyte target cells. May be involved in apoptosis. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Translation; RNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2p13

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; stress granule; cytoplasm

Molecular Function: protein binding; nucleotide binding; AU-rich element binding; poly(A) binding

Biological Process: regulation of nuclear mRNA splicing, via spliceosome; apoptosis; negative regulation of translation; negative regulation of cytokine biosynthetic process

Disease: Welander Distal Myopathy

Product Notes

The TIA1 tia1 (Catalog #AAA3205578) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TIA1 antibody - N-terminal region reacts with Cow, Dog, Guinea Pig, Horse, Human, Mouse, Rabbit, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TIA1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TIA1 tia1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: MGKEVKVNWA TTPSSQKKDT SSSTVVSTQR SQDHFHVFVG DLSPEITTED. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TIA1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
