Related Product Information for anti-SLITRK5 antibody
SLIT and NTRK-like family 2 (Slitrk2) is a member a protein family consisting of six homologous transmembrane proteins (Slitrk1-6) that share two conserved leucine-rich repeat domains in the extracellular domain and have significant homology to Slit, a secreted axonal growth-controlling protein. These proteins are also homologous to trk neurotrophin receptors in their intracellular domains (1). Expression of Slitrk proteins is highly restricted to neural and brain tumor tissues, but varies within the family. For example, Slitrk2 is expressed primarily in neurons in the ventricular layer of the brain (1,2). Like every other Slitrk protein except Slitrk1, overexpression of Slitrk2 inhibited neurite outgrowth in cultured neurons. Deletion analysis indicated that the functional difference between Slitrk2 and Slitrk1 is within their intracellular domains (1). At least two isoforms of this protein are known to exist. This antibody is predicted to have no cross-reactivity to other Slitrk proteins.

NCBI Description

Members of the SLITRK family, such as SLITRK5, are integral membrane proteins with 2 N-terminal leucine-rich repeat (LRR) domains similar to those of SLIT proteins (see SLIT1; MIM 603742). Most SLITRKs, including SLITRK5, also have C-terminal regions that share homology with neurotrophin receptors (see NTRK1; MIM 191315). SLITRKs are expressed predominantly in neural tissues and have neurite-modulating activity (Aruga et al., 2003 [PubMed 14557068]).[supplied by OMIM]

Uniprot Description

Product Notes

The SLITRK5 slitrk5 (Catalog #AAA621066) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SLITRK5, CT (CXorf2, DKFZp451E1911, KIAA1854, MGC129912, MGC129913, SLIT and NTRK-like protein 2 precursor, SLITL1, UNQ9197/PRO34756) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SLITRK5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Dilution: Western Blot: 1-2 ug/ml. Rat brain tissue lysate can be used as positive control. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SLITRK5 slitrk5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SLITRK5, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
