Supplied as a liquid in Dulbecco's PBS (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.3, 1mg/ml BSA (IgG, protease free), 0.05% sodium azide.
Applicable Applications for anti-Protein Kinase A, alpha/beta, Catalytic Subunit antibody
ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes
Suitable for use in Western Blot.
Dilution: Western Blot: 0.1-0.75ug/ml. At 0.35ug/ml, the dilution provides 100ml working solution, which at 10ml/blot allows 10 blots to be performed.
Immunogen
Synthetic phosphopeptide derived from a region of human PKA that contains threonine 197.
Positive Control
Forskolin-treated NIH3T3 cells, or Y-1 mouse adrenal cortical cells.
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Related Product Information for anti-Protein Kinase A, alpha/beta, Catalytic Subunit antibody
c-AMP-dependent Protein Kinase (PKA) is a serine/threonine kinase that regulates a number of cellular processes including proliferation, ion transport and gene transcription. PKA is composed of conserved catalytic subunits and regulatory subunits that dissociate upon activation by cAMP. The catalytic subunit of PKA contains the activation loop and mediates DNA binding and substrate recognition. The catalytic subunit is assembled and expressed as an active form and is phosphorylated on threonine 197 by PDK-1 in the activation loop. Phosphorylation of threonine 197 is critical for PKA maturation, optimal conformation and catalytic activity and plays a key role in mediating its biological functions.

Product Notes

The Protein Kinase A, alpha/beta, Catalytic Subunit (Catalog #AAA610853) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Protein Kinase A, alpha/beta, Catalytic Subunit, phosphorylated (Thr197) (PKAa,b) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Protein Kinase A, alpha/beta, Catalytic Subunit can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blot. Dilution: Western Blot: 0.1-0.75ug/ml. At 0.35ug/ml, the dilution provides 100ml working solution, which at 10ml/blot allows 10 blots to be performed. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Protein Kinase A, alpha/beta, Catalytic Subunit for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Protein Kinase A, alpha/beta, Catalytic Subunit, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
