Related Product Information for anti-NT5E antibody
Ecto-5'nucleotidase (NT5E, also called CD73) is a 70 kDa glycosyl phosphatidylinositol-anchored membrane-bound glycoprotein that catalyzes the hydrolysis of extracellular nucleoside monophosphates into bioactive nucleoside (1). NT5E catalyzes the terminal step of extracellular adenosine formation from adenosine-monophosphate, therefore driving the regulation of extracellular adenosine levels and the downstream activation of the four G protein-coupled adenosine receptors (2). Binding of hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF-1) to the NT5E gene promotor leads to upregulation of NT5E during hypoxia (3). NT5E biological roles span from lymphocyte adhesion (4,5), to fibrosis (6), to regulation of nociception (7,8).

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a plasma membrane protein that catalyzes the conversion of extracellular nucleotides to membrane-permeable nucleosides. The encoded protein is used as a determinant of lymphocyte differentiation. Defects in this gene can lead to the calcification of joints and arteries. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]

Uniprot Description

NT5E: Hydrolyzes extracellular nucleotides into membrane permeable nucleosides. Homodimer; disulfide-linked. Belongs to the 5'-nucleotidase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cofactor and Vitamin Metabolism - nicotinate and nicotinamide; Nucleotide Metabolism - purine; EC 3.1.3.5; Membrane protein, integral; Nucleotide Metabolism - pyrimidine; Phosphatase (non-protein); Membrane protein, GPI anchor

Product Notes

The NT5E nt5e (Catalog #AAA9408558) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The NT5E Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NT5E can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). Western blotting: 1:500 - 1:2000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50 - 1:100 Immunofluorescence: 1:50 - 1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NT5E nt5e for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NT5E, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
