Related Product Information for anti-Casp8ap2 antibody
Apoptosis is related to many diseases and induced by a family of cell death receptors and their ligands. Cell death signals are transduced by death domain (DD)- containing adapter molecules and members of the ICE/CED-3 protease family. Caspases-8 (FLICE) and -10 (FLICE2) are two pivotal members in the ICE/CED-3 protease family. FLICE-inhibitory proteins were identified in virus and human and designated v-FLIPs and FLIP, respectively1,2. The human FLIP was also cloned by several labs independently and termed Casper, I-FLICE, FLAME-1, CASH and CLARP3-7. FLIP contains two death effector domains (DEDs) and a caspase-like domain. FLIP interacts with adapter protein FADD and caspase-8 and ?10, and potently inhibits apoptosis induced by all known death receptors. Four splice variants of c-FLIPs have been identified and termed FLIP,,, and, respectively8.

Uniprot Description

Function: Participates in TNF-alpha-induced blockade of glucocorticoid receptor (GR) transactivation at the nuclear receptor coactivator level, upstream and independently of NF-kappa-B. Suppresses both NCOA2- and NCOA3-induced enhancement of GR transactivation

By similarity. Required for histone gene transcription and progression through S phase

By similarity. Required for histone gene transcription and S phase progression

By similarity. Involved in TNF-alpha-induced activation of NF-kappa-B via a TRAF2-dependent pathway. Acts as a downstream mediator for CASP8-induced activation of NF-kappa-B. Required for the activation of CASP8 in FAS-mediated apoptosis. Ref.1 Ref.5 Ref.6 UniProtKB Q9UKL3

Subunit structure: Self-associates. Interacts with NPAT

By similarity. Interacts with SRRT

By similarity. Interacts (via SIM domains) with SUMO1 and SUMO2

By similarity. Interacts with SP100; may negatively regulate CASP8AP2 export from the nucleus to the cytoplasm

By similarity. Interacts with NCOA2 and NCOA3

By similarity. Component of the death-inducing signaling complex (DISC) with CASP8, FADD and FAS. Interacts with TRAF2. Ref.1 Ref.5 Ref.8

Subcellular location: Cytoplasm

By similarity. Nucleus. Nucleus › PML body

By similarity. Mitochondrion

By similarity. Note: Exported from the nucleus to the mitochondria upon FAS activation

Product Notes

The Casp8ap2 casp8ap2 (Catalog #AAA395625) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The flip (NT) (I-flICE) (flICE Inhibitory Protein) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's flip (I-flICE) (flICE Inhibitory Protein) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Casp8ap2 casp8ap2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "flip (I-flICE) (flICE Inhibitory Protein), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
