Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA)
Application Notes
This antibody has been tested for use in western blotting and immunohistochemistry. HeLa whole cell lysate can be used as a positive control in western blotting, and a band at approximately 55 kDa is expected.
Immunogen
This antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids near the carboxyl terminus of the human FLIPa/FLIPL protein.
Preparation and Storage
This product is stable for several weeks at 4 degree C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at-20 degree C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Expiration date is one (1) year from date of receipt.

Related Product Information for anti-FLIP alpha antibody
Apoptosis is related to many diseases and is induced by a family of cell death receptors and their ligands. Cell death signals are transduced by death domain (DD)-containing adapter molecules and members of the ICE/CED-3 protease family. Caspases-8 (FLICE) and-10 (FLICE2) are two pivotal members in the ICE/CED-3 protease family. FLICE-inhibitory proteins were identified in virus and human and designated v-FLIPs and FLIP, respectively (1, 2). The human FLIP was also cloned by several labs independently and termed Casper, I-FLICE, FLAME-1, CASH and CLARP (3-7). FLIP contains two death effector domains (DEDs) and a caspase-like domain. FLIP interacts with adapter protein FADD and caspase-8 and-10, and potently inhibits apoptosis induced by all known death receptors. Four splice variants of FLIPs have been identified and termed FLIPa, b, g, and d, respectively (8).

Product Notes

The FLIP alpha (Catalog #AAA4157007) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-FLIP alpha Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's FLIP alpha can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA). This antibody has been tested for use in western blotting and immunohistochemistry. HeLa whole cell lysate can be used as a positive control in western blotting, and a band at approximately 55 kDa is expected. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FLIP alpha for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FLIP alpha, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
