Related Product Information for anti-Fcn1 antibody
Background: Ficolin-1 also known as M-Ficolin is a pattern recognition molecule of the lectin complement activation pathway. It is expressed mostly in monocytes, nuetrophils and in type II alveolar epithelial cells. Ficolin-1 is detected on the surface of circulating monocytes but is not present in the plasma. Ficolin-1 has a 28 aa signal sequence, an N-terminal collagen domain and a C-terminal fibrinogen-like (FBG) domain that contain a calcium binding site and a potential N-glycosylation site.

Uniprot Description

Extracellular lectin functioning as a pattern-recognition receptor in innate immunity. Binds the sugar moieties of pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) displayed on microbes and activates the lectin pathway of the complement system. May also activate monocytes through a G protein-coupled receptor, FFAR2, inducing the secretion of interleukin-8/IL-8. Binds preferentially to 9-O-acetylated 2-6-linked sialic acid derivatives and to various glycans containing sialic acid engaged in a 2-3 linkage ().

Product Notes

The Ficolin-1 fcn1 (Catalog #AAA840211) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Ficolin-1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Ficolin-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western blotting (0.5-4 ug/ml). However, the optimal concentrations should be determined individually. The antibody recognizes ~33 kDa Ficolin-1 and a 37 kDa Ficolin-1 precursor in samples from human, mouse and rat origins. Reactivity to other species has not been tested. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Ficolin-1 fcn1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Ficolin-1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
