WB: 1-2ug/ml dilution
For optimal results, primary antibody incubations should be performed at room temperature. The addition of 0.1% Tween 20 to all blocking solutions may also reduce background.
Background: Overexpression of DRAK2 (STK17B or DAP kinase-related apoptosis-inducing protein kinase 2) and ZIP kinase can cause the morphological changes typical of apoptosis in NIH/3T3 cells. Both DRAKs and ZIP kinase share significant homology at the amino acid level. The kinase domains of both DRAKs and ZIP kinase are homologous to DAP (Death-associated protein) kinase, which is involved in the apoptotic signaling induced by interferon-g. Overexpression of DRAKs in NIH/3T3 cells lead to apoptosis. These experiments also indicate that the C-terminal domain of DRAKs are important for induction of apoptosis.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
DRAK2: a calmodulin-dependent kinase of the DAPK family. Interacts with and is regulated by calcineurin homologous protein (CHP), an EF-hand Ca(2+)-binding protein. In vitro, CHP inhibits the apoptosis-inducing protein kinase DRAK2 in the presence of elevated Ca(2+) levels. Highly expressed in placenta, lung, pancreas. Lower levels in heart, brain, liver, skeletal muscle and kidney.

Product Notes
The DRAK2 stk17b (Catalog #AAA388683) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The DRAK2 antibody (pAb) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DRAK2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Applications Validated: WB: 1-2ug/ml dilution For optimal results, primary antibody incubations should be performed at room temperature. The addition of 0.1% Tween 20 to all blocking solutions may also reduce background. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DRAK2 stk17b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DRAK2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
