Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. No preservative added. No stabilizing proteins added. Glycerol free. Labeled with Biotin.
Applicable Applications for anti-AQP1 antibody
ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Application Notes
WB: Chemiluminescence technique reveals two bands, a lower 28kD band corresponding to unglycosylated form and an upper high molecular 35-60kD glycosylated component (Denker et al. 1988; Smith & Agre 1991) We recommend the use of 0.5-1.0% milk in all primary/secondary antibody-enzyme conjugate incubations in order to suppress non-specific bands.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to 19aa from the cytosolic carboxyl terminal domain of the AQP1, conjugated to KLH. This peptide contains most of the epitopes recognized by polyclonal antibodies against the whole protein.
Conjugate
Biotin
Note
Preservative Free
Preparation and Storage
Store product at 4 degree C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable at -20 degree C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Western Blot (WB)

(Western Blot: A3000 (0.5ug/ml) in adult rat heart lysate.)

Related Product Information for anti-AQP1 antibody
Water is a critical component of all living cells. Interestingly, tissue membranes show a great degree of water permeability. Mammalian red cells, renal proximal tubules, and descending thin limb of Henle are extraordinarily permeable to water. Water crosses hydrophobic plasma membranes either by simple diffusion or through a facilitative transport mechanism mediated by special protein "aquaporin". Aquaporin, are integral membrane proteins from a larger family of major intrinsic proteins (MIP) that form pores in the membrane of biological cells. Over the last decade, genes for several members of the aquaporin family have been cloned, expressed, and their distribution studied in many tissues. Aquaporin 1 (APQ1) is a 28kD integral membrane protein which was originally identified in red blood cells and renal proximal tubules. AQP1 is also expressed by the choroid plexus and various other tissues.

Product Notes

The AQP1 aqp1 (Catalog #AAA6463880) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Aquaporin 1 (AQP1, CHIP28) (Biotin) (Azide, BSA & Glycerol free) reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Aquaporin 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AQP1 aqp1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Aquaporin 1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
