Related Product Information for AQP1 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This AQP1 ELISA kit is intended Laboratory for research use only. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm using a spectrophotometer. In order to measure the concentration of AQP1 in the sample, this AQP1 ELISA Kit includes a set of calibration standards. The calibration standards are assayed at the same time as the samples and allow the operator to produce a standard curve of Optical Density versus AQP1 concentration. The concentration of AQP1 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

Principle of the Assay: This AQP1 enzyme linked immunosorbent assay applies a technique called a quantitative sandwich immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with a monoclonal antibody specific for AQP1. Standards or samples are then added to the microtiter plate wells and AQP1 if present, will bind to the antibody pre-coated wells. In order to quantitatively determine the amount of AQP1 present in the sample, a standardized preparation of horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated polyclonal antibody, specific for AQP1 are added to each well to "sandwich" the AQP1 immobilized on the plate. The microtiter plate undergoes incubation, and then the wells are thoroughly washed to remove all unbound components. Next, A and B substrate solution is added to each well. The enzyme (HRP) and substrate are allowed to react over a short incubation period.Only those wells that contain AQP1 and enzyme-conjugated antibody will exhibit a change in colour. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the colour change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm.

NCBI Description

integral membrane protein that is a major water transport molecule in the kidney proximal tubule and red blood cells [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

AQP1: Forms a water-specific channel that provides the plasma membranes of red cells and kidney proximal tubules with high permeability to water, thereby permitting water to move in the direction of an osmotic gradient. Belongs to the MIP/aquaporin (TC 1.A.8) family.

Product Notes

The Mouse AQP1 aqp1 (Catalog #AAA723571) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA723571 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse AQP1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Aquaporin 1, Colton Blood Group, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
