NCBI Description

may play a role in neurogenesis; may be involved in neuronal regeneration in response to injury [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

Function: Class-IV neuronal intermediate filament that is able to self-assemble. It is involved in the morphogenesis of neurons. It may form an independent structural network without the involvement of other neurofilaments or it may cooperate with NF-L to form the filamentous backbone to which NF-M and NF-H attach to form the cross-bridges

By similarity.

Developmental stage: Levels of this protein reach a maximum at embryonic day 16 and decline into adulthood.

Post-translational modification: O-glycosylated

By similarity.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the intermediate filament family.

Product Notes

The Ina ina (Catalog #AAA416059) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's a-Internexin/NF66 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF). The serum can be diluted to 1:250-500 for immunofluorescence staining and 1:1,000 for western blotting. On western blots look for a major band at 64 to 66kDa, depending on the species, the human protein being a little larger than that from rodents. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Ina ina for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "a-Internexin/NF66, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
