Immunocytochemistry (ICC)

(Mixed neuron-glial cultures stained with rabbit antibody to alpha-internexin (red) and chicken antibody to peripherin (green). The alpha internexin antibody stains numerous axonal and dendritic profiles in these cultures, while peripherin antibody binds to only a subset of neurons.)

Western Blot (WB)

(Western blot of whole rat spinal cord homogenate stained with INA / Alpha Internexin antibody, at dilution of 1:20,000. A prominent band running at ~66kDa is apparent, as well as smaller lower bands which are apparently degradation products. A minor band at ~150kDa is also seen, apparently resulting from dimerization of alpha-internexin.)

NCBI Description

Neurofilaments are type IV intermediate filament heteropolymers composed of light, medium, and heavy chains. Neurofilaments comprise the axoskeleton and they functionally maintain the neuronal caliber. They may also play a role in intracellular transport to axons and dendrites. This gene is a member of the intermediate filament family and is involved in the morphogenesis of neurons. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2009]

Uniprot Description

INA: Class-IV neuronal intermediate filament that is able to self-assemble. It is involved in the morphogenesis of neurons. It may form an independent structural network without the involvement of other neurofilaments or it may cooperate with NF-L to form the filamentous backbone to which NF-M and NF-H attach to form the cross-bridges. Belongs to the intermediate filament family.

Product Notes

The INA ina (Catalog #AAA248672) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Polyclonal to Human INA / Alpha Internexin reacts with Human, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's INA / Alpha Internexin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB). ICC (1:500 - 1:1000), IF (1:500 - 1:1000), IHC-P (1:100), WB (1:20000) Usage: The serum can be diluted to 1:500-1:1000 for immunofluorescence staining and 1:10000-1:20000 for western blotting. On western blots look for a major band at 64 to 66kDa, depending on the species, the human protein being a little larger than that from.. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the INA ina for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "INA / Alpha Internexin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
