Related Product Information for PICK1 recombinant protein
Introduction: Protein Interacting with PRKCA 1, also known as PICK1 includes a PDZ domain, through which it interacts with protein kinase C, alpha (PRKCA). PICK1 performs as an adaptor which binds to and arranges the subcellular localization of various membrane proteins. PICK1 interacts with multiple glutamate receptor subtypes, monoamine plasma membrane transporters, in addition to non-voltage gated sodium channels, and might target PRKCA to these membrane proteins and therefore regulates their distribution as well as function. PICK1 has also been found to perform as an anchoring protein which particularly targets PRKCA to mitochondria in a ligand-specific manner.

Description: PICK1 Human Recombinant produced in E Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 438 amino acids (1-415 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 49.0kDa. PICK1 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Uniprot Description

PICK1: Probable adapter protein that bind to and organize the subcellular localization of a variety of membrane proteins containing some PDZ recognition sequence. Involved in the clustering of various receptors, possibly by acting at the receptor internalization level. Plays a role in synaptic plasticity by regulating the trafficking and internalization of AMPA receptors. May be regulated upon PRKCA activation. May regulate heteromeric ASIC1/ASIC3 channel.

Protein type: Adaptor/scaffold; Cell development/differentiation; Ligand, receptor tyrosine kinase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 22q13.1

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; Golgi apparatus; neuron projection; perinuclear region of cytoplasm; plasma membrane; presynaptic membrane; synapse

Molecular Function: actin filament binding; ATPase activity; enzyme binding; G-protein-coupled receptor binding; identical protein binding; protein binding; protein C-terminus binding; protein domain specific binding; protein kinase C binding; receptor binding

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Protein Interacting With PRKCA 1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
