Principle of the assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with NPHS1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated antibody preparation specific for NPHS1. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with pre-coated NPHS1 and NPHS1 in samples. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of NPHS1 in the samples. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Interacts with MAGI1 (via PDZ 2 and 3 domains) forming a tripartite complex with IGSF5/JAM4. Interacts with DDN; the interaction is direct. Self-associates (via the Ig-like domains).
