Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Reactivity
Human
Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human DBP. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human DBP and analogues was observed.
Sequence Length
474
Samples
Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates
Assay Type
Competitive
Detection Range
0.156 mug/ml -10 mug/ml.
Sensitivity
The minimum detectable dose of human DBP is typically less than 0.039 mug/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess.
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
Preparation and Storage
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.

Related Product Information for GC elisa kit
Principle of the assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with DBP. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated antibody preparation specific for DBP. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with pre-coated DBP and DBP in samples. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of DBP in the samples. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the albumin gene family. It is a multifunctional protein found in plasma, ascitic fluid, cerebrospinal fluid and on the surface of many cell types. It binds to vitamin D and its plasma metabolites and transports them to target tissues. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2011]

Uniprot Description

Function: Multifunctional protein found in plasma, ascitic fluid, cerebrospinal fluid, and urine and on the surface of many cell types. In plasma, it carries the vitamin D sterols and prevents polymerization of actin by binding its monomers. DBP associates with membrane-bound immunoglobulin on the surface of B-lymphocytes and with IgG Fc receptor on the membranes of T-lymphocytes.

Product Notes

The Human GC gc (Catalog #AAA702288) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA702288 ELISA Kit recognizes Human GC. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "group-specific component (vitamin D binding protein), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
