This transmembrane protein is expressed on monocytes/macrophages, granulocytes, mast cells, dendritic cells and some B cells. It is an activating immune receptor associated ITAM-bearing adapter DAP12 and FcRg chain on macrophages. MAIR-II regulates myeloid cell activation and promotes secretion of cytokines and chemokines.
