NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the CD300 glycoprotein family of cell surface proteins found on leukocytes involved in immune response signaling pathways. This gene is located on chromosome 17 in a cluster with all but one of the other family members. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2012]
Uniprot Description
MAIR-I: Inhibitory receptor which may contribute to the down- regulation of cytolytic activity in natural killer (NK) cells, and to the down-regulation of mast cell degranulation. Belongs to the CD300 family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Immunoglobulin superfamily; Membrane protein, integral
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q25.1
Cellular Component: membrane; plasma membrane; integral to membrane
Molecular Function: protein binding; phosphatidylethanolamine binding; phosphatidylserine binding
Biological Process: positive regulation of phosphoprotein phosphatase activity; negative regulation of MAP kinase activity; negative regulation of NK T cell activation; immune system process; negative regulation of mast cell degranulation; negative regulation of mast cell activation during immune response; negative regulation of B cell proliferation; signal transduction; negative regulation of phagocytosis, engulfment; negative regulation of B cell receptor signaling pathway; negative regulation of fibroblast proliferation; regulation of T cell receptor signaling pathway; cell adhesion

Product Notes
The CD300a cd300a (Catalog #AAA224497) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's CD300a can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow cytometry (FC/FACS). Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 1x106 cells in 100ul. Flow Cytometry: Minimum Dilution: 1/25; Maximum Dilution: 1/200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD300a cd300a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD300a, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
