NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
K19: a type I cytoskeletal keratin. The keratins are intermediate filament proteins responsible for the structural integrity of epithelial cells and are subdivided into cytokeratins and hair keratins. Keratin 19 differs from all other IF proteins in lacking the C-terminal tail domain. Unlike its related family members, this smallest known acidic cytokeratin is not paired with a basic cytokeratin in epithelial cells. It is specifically expressed in the periderm, the transiently superficial layer that envelopes the developing epidermis.
Protein type: Cytoskeletal

Product Notes
The CytokeRatin 19 / KeRatin K19 (Catalog #AAA570115) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse anti CytokeRatin 19 / KeRatin K19 reacts with Human, Zebrafish and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CytokeRatin 19 / KeRatin K19 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC), Immunocytochemistry (IHC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (frozen), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (paraffin), Western Blot (WB). RCK108 is particularly well suited for use in immunohistochemistry on paraffin-embedded tissues after pretreatment with pepsin or trypsin. RCK108 is also useful for immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry on frozen sections, immunoblotting and flow cytometry. Optimal antibody dilution should be determined by titRation; recommended range is 1:100 - 1:200 for flow cytometry, and for immunohistochemistry with avidin-biotinylated Horseradish peroxidase complex (ABC) as detection reagent, and 1:100 - 1:1000 for immunoblotting appliCations. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CytokeRatin 19 / KeRatin K19 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CytokeRatin 19 / KeRatin K19, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
