Human cytokeratin 20, CK-20 ELISA Kit | CK-20 elisa kit
Human cytokeratin 20, CK-20 ELISA Kit
Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with human CK-20 antibody. CK-20 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated human CK-20 Antibody is added and binds to CK-20 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CK-20 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of human CK-20. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the keratin family. The keratins are intermediate filament proteins responsible for the structural integrity of epithelial cells and are subdivided into cytokeratins and hair keratins. The type I cytokeratins consist of acidic proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains. This cytokeratin is a major cellular protein of mature enterocytes and goblet cells and is specifically expressed in the gastric and intestinal mucosa. The type I cytokeratin genes are clustered in a region of chromosome 17q12-q21. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
Plays a significant role in maintaining keratin filament organization in intestinal epithelia. When phosphorylated, plays a role in the secretion of mucin in the small intestine ().

Product Notes
The Human CK-20 krt20 (Catalog #AAA160311) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA160311 ELISA Kit recognizes Human CK-20. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "cytokeratin 20, CK-20, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
