Human CCL7/MCP-3 PicoKine ELISA Kit
Background: Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 7 (CCL7) is a small cytokine known as a chemokine that was previously called monocyte-specific chemokine 3 (MCP3). It belongs to the C-C chemokine family. By fluorescence in situ hybridization, mapped the MCP3 gene to chromosome 17q11.2-q12.1 MCP3 was identified as a physiologicsubstrate of gelatinase A. Cleaved MCP3 binds to CC-chemokine receptors-1, -2, and -3, but no longer induces calcium fluxes or promotes chemotaxis, and instead acts as a general chemokine antagonist that dampens inflammation, suggested that matrix metalloproteinases are both effectors and regulators of the inflammatory response.2
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes monocyte chemotactic protein 3, a secreted chemokine which attracts macrophages during inflammation and metastasis. It is a member of the C-C subfamily of chemokines which are characterized by having two adjacent cysteine residues. The protein is an in vivo substrate of matrix metalloproteinase 2, an enzyme which degrades components of the extracellular matrix. This gene is part of a cluster of C-C chemokine family members on chromosome 17q. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
CCL7: Chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes and eosinophils, but not neutrophils. Augments monocyte anti-tumor activity. Also induces the release of gelatinase B. This protein can bind heparin. Binds to CCR1, CCR2 and CCR3. Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.

Product Notes
The Human CCL7 ccl7 (Catalog #AAA176547) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA176547 ELISA Kit recognizes Human CCL7. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CCL7/MCP-3, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
