This is a synthetic peptide designed for use in combination with anti- ASB6 Antibody, made

Target Description: The protein encoded by this gene belongs to a family of ankyrin repeat proteins that, along with four other protein families, contain a C-terminal SOCS box motif. Growing evidence suggests that the SOCS box, similar to the F-box, acts as a bridge between specific substrate-binding domains and the more generic proteins that comprise a large family of E3 ubiquitin protein ligases. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified for this gene.

Uniprot Description

Function: Probable substrate-recognition component of a SCF-like ECS (Elongin-Cullin-SOCS-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex which mediates the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. Ref.5

Pathway: Protein modification; protein ubiquitination.

Subunit structure: Binds APS. Identified in a complex with TCEB1 and TCEB2

By similarity. Interacts with CUL5 and RNF7. Ref.5

Subcellular location: Cytoplasm

By similarity.

Domain: The SOCS box domain mediates the interaction with the Elongin BC complex, an adapter module in different E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complexes

By similarity.

Sequence similarities: Contains 6 ANK repeats.Contains 1 SOCS box domain.

Product Notes

The ASB6 asb6 (Catalog #AAA3247585) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ASB6 Peptide - middle region reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: IHNTENIRLL LEGGADVKAT TKDGDTVFTC IIFLLGETVG GDKEEAQMIN. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ASB6, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
